This was my first time trying this type of cushion blusher. I'm used to pressed blush, loose powder blush, cream blush, and balm blush. I was excited to try something new, thinking it would be great for traveling.I tapped and tapped the applicator on the back of my hand to get it started, but nothing happened. I didn't realize there was an inner seal that needed to be removed until I got my phone out, pulled up the Amazon listing, and found the “how to use” photo. Once I removed that piece and put it back together, it primed fairly quickly and I was ready to go. I wish that step was noted on or inside the packaging instead of on the Amazon listing. The listing photo does make this step clear, but I didn't remember and only had the packaging in front of me.The color is a whisper soft flush of cotton candy pink at first, then intensifies into a pretty bright pink as you tap more and more. The extremely fine gold microglitter that appears before the color does. The more color you layer, the more glitter you're going to get. It got everywhere - my face, my hands, my shirt, the air. I wasn't expecting that much sparkle. I will save this for parties and evenings out, and not for work & everyday as I had planned. The puff is nice and soft. It's big enough to do cheeks, but not small enough to get into some smaller areas. I used a blush brush to blend it in those areas. It didn't feel very precise having such a large applicator compared to using a blush brush, but again I'm not used to this type of applicator.I washed it off with my usual makeup remover - a Makeup Eraser dampened with plain warm water. The color came off the same as any other blush, but the glitter remained, spreading to the rest of my face. I gave up after scrubbing for a while and decided I'm just going to have to sparkle for the rest of the night. The cap has a cute little mirror on top, which is very convenient. It's not quite big enough to use while applying the blush, but it is crystal clear and usable. The whole unit is pretty adorable. This cute sparkly fun blush would make a great gift for a preteen or teen, but I wouldn't spend the current price of $19.99 US. I would go 10-12.
